K̲h̲vāb kā bhikārī / Beggar of Dreams
Tonight also, as usual, according to our custom,
Passing through the valley of evening,
Thoughtless, accompanied by the day,
We’ll touch the frontiers of night;
We’ll knock at the door of sleep;
Much shall we weep and implore
But this night also we won’t get
A single dream in
The begging bowl of our eye.
